Summer Intensive
Northeastern Ballet Theatre’s Summer Ballet Intensive Program provides unparalleled training by our teachers and guest faculty.We provide a safe, nurturing environment enabling each student to explore their technical and artistic capabilities. Our mission is to inspire the next generation of young dancers to grow and expand to their full potential.
As a summer Intensive student, you will experience a program focused on advancing your strength and technique using the proven Teaching Curriculum of our founder, Edra Toth. Build your confidence as a dancer through our comprehensive curriculum that brings together the finest in technique and artistry. Classes will include character, pointe, variations, modern, men’s technique and partnering. In addition, we will have lectures on wellness, dance history, meet the artist, and mentoring. Special Guest instructors will be announced soon.
Students currently enrolled in NBT’s school year DO NOT need to audition; they will enroll for the Summer Intensive at their current level. Current NBT parents, please check your Parent Portal for registration in early 2023.

2023 Tuition / Transportation
Payment may be made in whole, monthly installments, or Weekly (with Prior Approval). Tuition must be paid before the class starts each week. Transportation will be paid weekly.
*At the time of commitment, a non-refundable $200 deposit.. The $200 deposit is applied toward the total tuition. A limited number of scholarships are available at a sliding rate.

More Questions? . . . What are the dates for each session? Session 1: June 26 - July 28, 2023 Session 2: July 31 - August 25, 2023 Full Season: June 26 - August 25, 2023 Weekly: Pick the week or multiple weeks that work best for your family What are the class times? Full Day (Ballet Level 3** and up): Mon-Thu 9:00-4:30 PM, Fri 9:00-2:30 PM Half Day (Ballet 1, 2 and 3): Mon-Friday 9:00-12:30 PM ** Are there any prerequisites for participating in the Summer Intensive program? Full Day students must currently be enrolled in Level 3 or higher. NBT female dancer must have completed their pre-pointe evaluation before participating in the full day program. Half Day students must be in Level 1, 2, or 3 at the time of registration. What does a typical day at Summer Intensive look like? Everyday will include a mix of barre and center work, stretching and toning exercises, and partnering work. There will also be discussions on physical and mental health and proper nutrition for dance fitness. What is your instructor to dancer ratio? Full Day Session: 1-2 instructors for every 12 dancers Half Day Sessions: 1-2 instructors for every 8 dancers What should I bring to class each day? All dancers should arrive in proper ballet attire and bring a notebook, mat, stretch bands, water, and snacks. The Full Day dancers should also bring a healthy lunch. How will the classes be organized? All Full Day students (Level 3** and up) will be in classes together in Studio A. All Half Day students (Levels 1, 2, and 3) will be in classes together in Studio B. Is there a sibling discount available as well? Yes, there is a sibling discount of 10% off the full rate only, after April 1st. The sibling discount can not be combined with early registration discounts. Can I sign up by the week? Dancers who are currently full-time students at NBT may sign up for weekly Summer Intensive sessions, either Half or Full Day. Can I sign up at the last minute? You can if space is available. You must sign up for a week minimum and you will charged the full rate. Is there a daily drop-in rate? No. Due to the need to know in advance how many students will be participating each week, daily drop-ins are not possible. The Portal doesn't show the discounted rate. The discount will be applied to your monthly statement. Why do you require a deposit, how much is it, and is it refundable if our plans change? The deposit allows us to plan for and contract professional guest teachers. The deposit is not a registration fee and goes toward your tuition. The weekly deposit is $50 per week for a maximum of $200. The session and full season deposits are $200. Your deposit is 100% refunded up until June 1st. Why should I register early? Registering early will give you a discounted tuition for the Summer Intensive program. It also helps us determine our instructor needs based on the number of students that will be attending. What if I can't afford to pay for the whole thing right away? Payments can be divided up monthly, with the last payment due August 1, 2023. Please reach out for payment arrangements. What other class options will be available this summer if my child is not ready or interested in the Summer Intensive program? NBT will run a reduced class schedule in Wolfeboro and Dover. We will also offer a couple of specialty camps for younger children. Please watch for announcements. Where are the Summer Intensive classes held? Summer Intensive classes will be held only at the Dover studio. To assist students coming from the Wolfeboro area, transportation will be available for a slight fee. Where are the transportation pick-up points? At this point, it looks like we will pick up and drop off (??) in Wolfeboro at the NBT studio, as well as at the Alton Circle and in Rochester (exact locations TBD).
