Northeastern Ballet Theatre (NBT) is associated with two different educational institutions to offer the serious dancer the opportunity to attend school as well as dance as much as possible - Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH and BigFish Learning Community in Dover, NH. What NBT's association with these organizations means is that as a serious ballet dancer, one can go to school and have ballet be a part of your school day, and not just one class, but as many as you want. BigFish is located in the McConnell Center next door to NBT. BigFish provides support for teens to leave conventional school and build an education of their own based on personal interests, skills and passions. BigFish believes students who drive their own educational choices are intrinsically motivated to seek out challenges, solve problems, invent solutions, and become better versions of themselves. Teens will receive a mentor and with mentors, teens will track progress, make plans for the future, and facilitate connections with the wider world. BigFish will consistently run classes in basic math, advanced math, literature, writing, history, and all levels of Spanish. Additional classes, workshops, and tutorials will be offered on a variety of topics. The schedule will be a reflection of the interests and expertise of our students, core staff, community teachers & volunteers. Please visit bigfishnh.org for details. NBT has also set up a similar situation with Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro. The evening advanced ballet classes at NBT’s Wolfeboro studio (26 Glendon Street, Wolfeboro) are set up at a time that is convenient to Brewster students and it can be counted as their afternoon activity. If you would like more information regarding our partnership with any of these organizations, please email NBT at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (603) 834-8834.
